B-5656 is a Boeing 737-85C(WL) in the Xiamen Airlines fleet, MSN 38393 / Line Number 4135. Delivered on 11 August 2012, ferried BFI–HNL–MAJ–SPN–XMN on the delivery routing. In August 2020 the airframe was repainted in the "For the Prosperity of Beijing Daxing" special livery — timed to mark Xiamen Airlines' role at the newly opened Beijing Daxing International Airport (PKX), which opened in September 2019. The livery ties the airline to one of China's most significant infrastructure projects of recent decades.

Livery & Visual Details

The lower fuselage is a vibrant bright aqua-blue, transitioning into deep navy blue towards the tail, with the entire vertical stabiliser in deep navy carrying the airline's white egret logo. The upper fuselage is white with a thin navy cheatline incorporating a pattern of small white dots running beneath the window line. "XIAMENAIR" is rendered in white on the bright aqua lower fuselage, with Chinese characters above. On the mid-upper fuselage in dark blue: Chinese characters and the English text "for the Prosperity of BEIJING DAXING". Small blue egret silhouettes are visible in formation on the forward lower fuselage. Registration B-5656 on the aft fuselage and wing underside. Blended winglets.
