1:400 Diecast: Delta Air Lines Boeing 767-232 N102DA "Spirit of Delta / Atlanta 1996 Olympics" (Z2MODEL Z240000525)
N102DA, MSN 22214 (line number 34), rolled out as one of Delta Air Lines' earliest 767-200s and delivered on December 15, 1982. What makes this airframe singular among all 767s ever produced: in 1983, Delta employees voluntarily contributed portions of their own salaries to purchase the aircraft for the company during a period of financial hardship — a gesture so rare in commercial aviation that the aircraft was formally named Spirit of Delta. N102DA flew Delta mainline routes for over two decades before its final commercial flight on March 6, 2006. On May 7, 2006, it was moved to the Delta Flight Museum in Atlanta, Georgia, where it remains on permanent display.
Atlanta 1996 Olympics Special Livery
This Z2MODEL release captures N102DA in the commemorative livery applied for the 1996 Atlanta Summer Olympics, in which Delta served as the official airline. The forward fuselage retains the standard Delta scheme: white with the red triangular "widget" logo and "Delta Air Lines" in blue, with the script "Spirit of Delta" in red below. From mid-fuselage aft, the skin transitions to deep navy blue carrying the text "Atlanta 1996" and the full five-ring Olympic rings in the official colors — blue, yellow, black, green, and red. The vertical stabilizer features the official Atlanta 1996 Games graphic with stylized red and black shapes and three stars in light blue and magenta. The aircraft registration N102DA and a small U.S. flag appear on the navy section. Wingtips are conventional squared-off tips without winglets, consistent with the original 767-200 geometry.
Model Craft & Collectibility
Produced by Z2MODEL at 1:400 scale in diecast metal. The 767-232 subvariant and MSN 22214 identity are specific enough that only N102DA carries this combination. The Olympics livery has never appeared on another Delta 767. This is Z2MODEL's item Z240000525 and among the most historically resonant 767 releases in the 1:400 segment.
