1:400 Diecast: Lufthansa Airbus A380 D-AIMC "Peking" (YY Wings YY38002)

D-AIMC carries MSN 044, delivered to Lufthansa on 25 August 2010 after its first flight on 15 February that year. On 2 September 2010 — the date of its first commercial flight to Beijing Capital International Airport — the aircraft was formally named "Peking," making it the first Lufthansa aircraft ever christened with a non-German city name. The naming ceremony took place on the tarmac in Beijing, marking what the airline publicly described as a symbol of China's strategic importance to the Lufthansa network. The fuselage carries "Peking" on both sides of the nose, accompanied by Chinese characters reading "北京."

Livery & Visual Details

The model wears Lufthansa's classic Old Livery: white fuselage, deep-blue vertical stabilizer carrying the yellow circle Crane badge. "Lufthansa" lettering appears in deep-blue on the forward fuselage below the cockpit windows. The A380's characteristic blended winglets are present at both wingtip ends. Four Engine Alliance GP7200 nacelles are rendered in medium grey. Machine-printed passenger window rows run two decks deep along the entire fuselage length, reflecting the A380's twin-aisle double-deck configuration.

Model Craftsmanship & Collectability

YY Wings produces this release under item YY38002 in 1:400 diecast alloy. The same mould also appears as YY38002F in a flaps-down variant. Antennas, rolling landing gear, and a display stand are included. For collectors tracking Lufthansa's A380 naming programme, D-AIMC "Peking" represents a unique bilingual nose-text configuration not found on any other hull in the fleet.
