D-ABVY carries MSN 29869 (Line Number 1261), delivered to Lufthansa on 11 December 2000. During the COVID-19 groundings, the aircraft was flown to Teruel, Spain (TEV) for extended storage. It was among the last eight Lufthansa 747-400s reactivated after the pandemic, returning to Frankfurt between December 2021 and January 2022 — one of the final hulls to re-enter service in that campaign. D-ABVY continues in active Lufthansa operation.
