D-ABTA carries MSN 24285 (Line Number 747), delivered to Lufthansa on 19 September 1989 and named "Sachsen." It was the first Boeing 747-400 ever delivered to Lufthansa — specifically a 747-430M Combi variant — opening the airline's 747-400 fleet era that would span more than two decades. D-ABTA was retired in October 2012 and scrapped in 2013. As the inaugural hull of the type in Lufthansa service, D-ABTA in Old Livery represents a documented historical first rather than a generic fleet entry.
