Registered 9V-SGE, this Airbus A340-541 carries constructor number MSN 563 and was delivered to Singapore Airlines on 4 May 2004 — the fifth and final A340-500 to join the carrier's ultra-long-range fleet. The batch of five (9V-SGA through 9V-SGE) entered service on routes that set commercial aviation records, including the nonstop Singapore–Los Angeles and Singapore–Newark corridors, each exceeding 18 hours of block time. After roughly a decade in service, 9V-SGE was stored and subsequently re-registered T7-SAU under private ownership.
