9V-SGC is an Airbus A340-541, MSN 478, delivered to Singapore Airlines on 23 January 2004. It was part of the five-frame A340-500 fleet that SQ operated under the "LeaderShip" branding and flew some of the world's longest non-stop routes — including the record-holding SIN–EWR Newark service (approximately 18 hours 45 minutes, 15,344 km). 9V-SGC was stored in November 2013 and scrapped in October 2020. Its four Rolls-Royce Trent 553 engines powered a maximum take-off weight of 373 tonnes, tailored for ultra-long-range operations.

Livery & Visual Detail

Classic Singapore Airlines livery: white fuselage, golden Kris Bird on the dark blue vertical stabilizer, gold-and-dark-blue cheatline running the cabin length, "SINGAPORE AIRLINES" in dark blue capitals on the forward fuselage, Singapore flag decal at the nose. Star Alliance roundel is visible on the forward fuselage. Four silver-grey Trent 553 nacelles under the wings. Raked wingtips in white. Registration 9V-SGC confirmed on the rear fuselage and on the stand label. Nose text reads "AIRBUS A340-500".

SQ Wings item L2176 is a 1:200 diecast alloy construction with display stand. 9V-SGC and 9V-SGB (L2175) were adjacent in Singapore's fleet and operated the same ultra-long-range routes. The companion pair documents the two A340-541 frames that are now permanently retired from service.
