1:200 Diecast: PLAAF Ilyushin Il-76MD Bort 21041 (SQ Wings L2089)

Bort 21041 is an Ilyushin Il-76MD operated by the People's Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF), representing China's primary strategic airlifter fleet sourced from the Soviet Union and Russia. China acquired a substantial number of Il-76MD aircraft beginning in the 1990s to fulfil its long-range military transport requirements. The Il-76MD — the "modernized" variant — introduced increased fuel capacity and structural reinforcement over the original Il-76, enabling greater range with full payload. SQ Wings released this model as the debut of their 1:200 Il-76 tooling.

Livery & Visual Details

The model wears standard PLAAF tactical livery: light tactical blue over the upper fuselage and wings, contrasting with a light grey-white undersurface. The nose section features the Il-76's signature glazed navigator's position. Vertical Chinese characters reading "Chinese Air Force" (in Chinese) appear on the forward fuselage in blue-black. The T-tail carries the red PLAAF five-pointed star insignia with two horizontal red stripes above and below, along with bort number "21041" in red. Red PLA roundels appear on both sides of the mid-fuselage and on wing upper surfaces. Four D-30KP-2 turbofan engines are mounted under the high wings.

Produced by SQ Wings at 1:200 scale, item number L2089. This represents the first release from SQ Wings' dedicated Il-76 mould, making it significant for 1:200 military transport collectors. The model includes a display stand and antenna detail. Dimensions: 23.3 cm length, 25.25 cm wingspan.
