HL8572 is a Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner, MSN 60304, line number 1189, first flown on 17 August 2024 and delivered to Korean Air on 1 March 2025. It is one of ten 787-10s Korean Air ordered from Air Lease Corporation, part of a fleet renewal targeting higher-capacity medium-haul and long-haul routes. The 787-10 is the largest variant in the 787 family, stretching the fuselage to 68 metres while retaining the composite airframe and fuel efficiency of the original Dreamliner design.

SQ Wings L2140 renders the current Korean Air livery in crisp detail. The upper two-thirds of the fuselage is painted in the carrier's signature sky blue, separated from the silver-grey belly by a thin horizontal stripe. "KOREAN AIR" is lettered in dark blue on the forward fuselage above the window line, with the Taeguk-inspired red-and-blue swirl logo embedded between the two words. The vertical stabilizer wears the same sky blue with the large Taeguk emblem centered on both faces; a small Korean national flag tops the fin. Registration HL8572 is printed horizontally at the top of the stabilizer and vertically along its leading edge. Raked wingtips — characteristic of all 787 variants — are reproduced at the wing ends. GEnx-1B engines with their distinctive chevron exhaust nozzles are visible on both nacelles. Landing gear is deployed. Korean script text is present on the lower forward fuselage near the nose gear bay.
