1:200 Diecast: Airbus A380-861 F-WWDD "Love at First Flight" (SQ Wings L2009)

F-WWDD is the fourth A380 prototype (MSN 4), operated by Airbus Industrie for flight testing and demonstration. The airframe made its first flight on 18 October 2005, becoming part of the A380's extensive pre-service test programme. Powered by four General Electric / Pratt & Whitney Alliance GP7270 engines, F-WWDD toured international air shows and demonstration events before retirement. The aircraft has since been slated for preservation at the Le Bourget Aerospace Museum.

Livery & Visual Details

The model carries Airbus's iconic "Love at First Flight" house livery. The white fuselage features the slogan "Love at first flight." in black italics with a red heart replacing the period, situated mid-fuselage above a large stylized red A380 emblem. Forward, the word "AIRBUS" appears in bold dark blue letters, with "A380" above it and a collection of small airline partner logos arranged in rows below — representing the programme's launch customers. The vertical stabilizer shows "A380" in large white letters on a dark blue lower section, transitioning to an abstract multi-tone blue wave pattern toward the tip; registration F-WWDD appears in white at the base of the fin. A small French flag decal is visible on the stabilizer. Engine nacelles are white with a dark blue swoosh graphic and a small white Airbus logo on each. All four engines are represented. Wingtips are blended with a dark blue outer face and a small Airbus logo on the inner surface.

SQ Wings L2009 captures F-WWDD in diecast metal at 1:200 scale. As a prototype airframe in Airbus house colours, F-WWDD occupies a distinct niche separate from airline liveries: it represents the programme itself rather than any single operator, and the "Love at First Flight" scheme is among the most recognised special liveries associated with the A380 story.
