1:200 Diecast: CAAC Boeing 747-243B B-2440 (SQ Wings L2082)
B-2440 is a Boeing 747-243B, MSN 19731, line number 120, delivered to CAAC on 20 May 1985. The -243B designates an Alitalia-type passenger variant, one of several 747-200s CAAC acquired during the 1980s to expand China's long-haul network before the airline dissolved into Air China and other regional carriers in 1988. B-2440 represents the generation when a single state body controlled all of China's civil aviation.
SQ Wings L2082 faithfully replicates the CAAC identity on this short-lived but historically significant aircraft. The fuselage is white; a two-tone blue cheatline — a wide dark band paired with a narrow lighter accent — traces the window line from nose to tail. Chinese characters reading "Zhongguo Minhang" sit in dark blue above the cheatline on the mid-forward fuselage, alongside the CAAC circular emblem. The vertical stabilizer displays the Chinese national flag: red ground with five yellow stars. Four underwing turbofan engine nacelles are silver-grey. Landing gear is deployed. No winglets — clean straight wingtips.
