1:200 Diecast: Boeing 787-8 N787BA "ZA001 — World's First 787" (SQ Wings L2075)

N787BA — factory designation ZA001 — is the first Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner ever built. MSN 40690 / Line Number 001 made its maiden flight on 15 December 2009 from Everett, Washington, opening a six-airplane 787 flight test and certification campaign. The aircraft spent its entire service life in Boeing's hands as the primary structural and systems test vehicle before Boeing donated it to the Flight of Dreams visitor centre adjacent to Nagoya Chubu Centrair Airport in 2015, where it remains on permanent public display.

Livery & Visual Details

The upper fuselage is white; the lower fuselage is deep dark blue. A wavy lighter-blue stripe with horizontal line texture separates the two sections at mid-fuselage. The Boeing corporate logo and "BOEING" in white appear on the forward fuselage below the cockpit. "DREAM LINER" in light-blue lettering — solid "DREAM," outlined "LINER" — sits on the aft lower fuselage. A large "787" in dark blue dominates the light-blue vertical stabilizer. Registration "N787BA" is printed in small white text on the aft fuselage. Raked wingtips are standard 787 architecture. The visible engine nacelle carries a Rolls-Royce double-R monogram, consistent with the Trent 1000 engines fitted to ZA001 during flight testing; exhaust nozzles appear smooth in the model.

SQ Wings casts this at 1:200 diecast metal, 28.35 cm × 30 cm with a display stand. N787BA is the zero-origin aircraft of the entire 787 programme — no other 787 diecast in any collection carries a lower line number. It now lives in Nagoya's Flight of Dreams as an exhibit; this L2075 model is the closest most collectors will get to the ZA001 airframe.
