1:200 Diecast: Boeing 747-100 N7470 "City of Everett" — The First 747 Ever Built (SQ Wings L2064)
N7470 is the Boeing 747-100 prototype, MSN 20235, designated internally as RA001. It rolled off the production line on September 30, 1968 at the Boeing Everett Factory — the largest building by volume ever constructed at that time — and completed its first flight on February 9, 1969, piloted by Chief Test Pilot Jack Waddell. Boeing retained ownership for the aircraft's entire working life, using it as the primary 747 test aircraft, later as a Pratt & Whitney PW4000 engine testbed for 777 development, and as a mockup for the VC-25 Air Force One program. The aircraft accumulated just 5,208 total flight hours before its final flight on April 6, 1995, when it was donated to the Museum of Flight in Seattle, where it remains on static display.
Livery & Visual Details
The model depicts N7470 in its iconic white-and-red test livery. "BOEING 747" appears in blue on the forward fuselage. A bold red horizontal stripe runs the full fuselage length. "CITY OF EVERETT" is printed in small red letters on the lower forward fuselage. The text "747" in large dark blue numerals dominates the white vertical stabilizer, accented by a sweeping red stripe. A cluster of small airline customer logos — representing the more than two dozen carriers that had ordered the type at rollout — is visible on the nose area, making this livery a record of who believed in the Jumbo Jet before it had flown. Standard straight non-raked wingtips, as fitted to all early 747-100 production aircraft. Four engine pylons mounted under the wing. The model captures the fifth engine transport pod visible on the right fuselage, a feature present on some early 747 ferry operations.
Model Craft & Collector Value
SQ Wings item L2064 renders N7470 in 1:200 die-cast alloy. As MSN 20235 — the very first Boeing 747 ever assembled — N7470 occupies an unambiguous position: no other airframe can claim this role. The model comes with metal display stand and rolling gear.
