HL7428 (MSN 28552, Line Number 1160) made its first flight on 29 May 1998 and was delivered to Asiana Airlines on 18 June 1999. The 747-48E operated passenger services for 25 years, accumulating approximately 96,986 flight hours and 88 million kilometers over its operational life. On 25 March 2024, HL7428 flew Asiana's final Boeing 747-400 commercial flight, ending the type's service with the carrier. The airframe was subsequently stored and scrapped in July 2024, making this model a record of a retired queen of the skies.

Livery & Visual Details

The model carries Asiana Airlines' contemporary livery: white fuselage with a wave-like stripe along the lower hull transitioning from dark grey-silver at the nose to warm reddish-brown toward the tail. "ASIANA AIRLINES" appears prominently on the forward fuselage above the stripe, with "KUMHO ASIANA GROUP" visible on the rear fuselage. A UNICEF partnership logo is present near the nose. The vertical stabilizer is dark grey-silver, with the registration HL7428 printed vertically in white, and three horizontal color stripes — yellow at top, red in the center, blue at the bottom — on the rudder panel, accompanied by a small South Korean flag emblem. The 747-400 series winglets are present at the wingtips. Four GE CF6-80C2B1F engines power the airframe.

SQ Wings L2003 renders the 747-400 at 1:200 scale in diecast metal. The model measures 35.34 cm in length and 32.22 cm in wingspan. Given HL7428's retirement in 2024 as Asiana's last 747, this release documents the final chapter of the type at the carrier.
