G-VFLY is one of Virgin Atlantic's early Airbus A340-311s, carrying MSN 058. The aircraft was delivered to Virgin Atlantic on 24 October 1994, at a time when the carrier was building its widebody long-haul fleet. The A340-311 is powered by four CFM International CFM56-5C4 engines, a configuration chosen for its ETOPS-independent oceanic range. G-VFLY operated transatlantic and Asia-Pacific routes across its Virgin Atlantic service life before retirement in 2006.

Livery & Visual Details

The model wears Virgin Atlantic's classic livery: light silver-grey fuselage with the airline's name in stylised lowercase white script along the upper cabin. The vertical stabiliser and all four engine nacelles are finished in the carrier's signature deep red. A Union Jack appears at the top edge of the tail fin. Below the cockpit windows, the "Flying Lady" nose art — the airline's iconic airborne figure — is rendered in red against the grey nose. Winglets are fitted at the wingtips, finished in grey with a small red-and-white striped outer face.
