1:400 Diecast: VARIG LOG McDonnell Douglas MD-11F PR-LGE (Phoenix PH11995)

PR-LGE is a McDonnell Douglas MD-11F (MSN 48415) with a layered operator history. Originally delivered to Korean Air as HL7374 in May 1992, the aircraft served the Korean carrier for over a decade before transitioning to VARIG Logistica (VARIG LOG), Brazil's cargo arm of the historic VARIG Group, where it carried the registration PR-LGE. The airframe was subsequently scrapped at Dubai World Central. It is one of the last passenger-version-derived MD-11 freighter conversions from the VARIG orbit.

Livery & Visual Details

The model depicts the VARIG LOG cargo livery: white upper fuselage and dark navy blue lower fuselage with a wavy cheatline separating the two. "VARIG LOG" runs mid-fuselage with "VARIG" in navy and "LOG" in yellow. Registration PR-LGE appears forward on the fuselage below the window line. The dark blue tail carries a stylized yellow-and-white star compass logo. All three engines — two underwing, one tail-mounted — wear navy nacelles. Classic straight wingtips, no winglets. Rolling gear deployed.

Model Craft & Collecting Notes

Phoenix PH11995 renders this MD-11F in 1:400 diecast metal. VARIG LOG cargo-liveried MD-11 releases are uncommon in the secondary market; this model documents both a defunct Brazilian cargo operator and a multi-owner airframe history rarely captured in a single release.
