HS-THU is a Thai Airways Airbus A350-941, MSN 246, delivered on 6 April 2024 and entered service on 25 April 2024. The aircraft carries the name "Sakon Nakhon" (Thai: สกลนคร), a province in northeastern Thailand, following Thai Airways' naming convention for its A350 fleet. Notably, MSN 246 was not delivered new to Thai Airways — it was originally stored upon manufacture, then operated by Hainan Airlines as B-308G before transferring to the Thai fleet in 2024. HS-THU was painted in Star Alliance special colours from delivery, making it one of a small number of Thai A350s wearing the alliance livery.

Livery and Visual Details

The model depicts Thai Airways' Star Alliance livery. The fuselage is clean white, dominated by "STAR ALLIANCE" in large dark text along the mid-fuselage — the word "STAR" in a distinctive dotted/stippled pattern and "ALLIANCE" in solid dark grey-black. Below it, "THAI" appears in purple, Thai Airways' brand colour, with the orchid logo in purple, pink, and gold beneath. The vertical stabilizer is gloss black with the Star Alliance five-triangle symbol in silver-grey. Registration HS-THU is printed in dark text on the upper fin. A small Thai flag is visible at the top of the stabilizer leading edge. A small Star Alliance emblem also appears on the forward fuselage below the cockpit. The wingtips are the elegant raked wingtips of the A350 family. Engine nacelles are light grey throughout.

Thai Airways painted two A350s in Star Alliance colours — HS-THQ and HS-THU — making each a specific collectible within the Thai A350 fleet. HS-THU entered service within weeks of delivery in April 2024, and its previous history as B-308G with Hainan Airlines before transfer adds a cross-operator dimension to this airframe's biography.
