1:400 Diecast: Singapore Airlines Airbus A340-541 9V-SGC "Star Alliance" (Phoenix PH04640)

9V-SGC, MSN 478, was delivered to Singapore Airlines on 19 December 2003. Powered by four Rolls-Royce Trent 553-61 engines, the aircraft flew SIA's ultra-long-haul routes including the non-stop Newark and Los Angeles services that put the A340-500 on the map. The airframe carried the Star Alliance livery for part of its career, distinguishing it from sister ships in standard SQ colours. SIA retired and scrapped the aircraft in October 2020 as widebody economics shifted toward twin-engine types.

Livery & Visual Detail

The model replicates SIA's classic three-stripe cheatline — thin blue over gold/orange over thin red — running the full fuselage length. "SINGAPORE AIRLINES" appears in blue on the forward fuselage with the Singapore national flag to its left; the Star Alliance logo sits above the windows behind the cockpit. The dark navy vertical stabilizer carries the SilverKris crane motif in gold. The four white engine nacelles sit under a light grey wing. Wingtips are classic raked style, accurate to the A340-500 production standard.
