1:400 Diecast: Monarch Airlines Airbus A330-200 G-EOMA (Phoenix PH11963)
G-EOMA is an Airbus A330-243, MSN 265, delivered to Monarch Airlines on 26 April 1999. It served the British charter carrier for over fifteen years, operating leisure routes from London Gatwick, Manchester, and Birmingham to Mediterranean, Canary Islands, and transatlantic destinations. On 30 April 2015, G-EOMA operated Monarch's final A330 service — a short positioning flight between the carrier's two bases — marking the airline's transition from widebody charter to all-narrowbody scheduled operations. The airframe subsequently transferred to Wamos Air (as EC-MJS) after Monarch's A330 withdrawal. Monarch Airlines itself ceased operations in October 2017. G-EOMA thus carries the distinction of flying the last Airbus A330 in Monarch service.
Livery & Visual Details
Phoenix captures G-EOMA in Monarch's late-era livery. The fuselage is white with a wide golden-yellow stripe running the entire length of the passenger window belt, bordered above and below by thin black lines. A distinctive golden-yellow "V" shape tapers from the stripe toward the black radome at the nose tip. "Monarch" is printed in black on the forward fuselage below the yellow stripe; "flymonarch.com" appears above it in smaller black text. "A330" is printed aft near the tail. The vertical stabiliser is white and carries the Monarch crown logo: a bold black "M" with three black dots arranged vertically above its right peak, symbolising a crown. The tail fin leading edge is light grey. Wingtips are the A330-200's classic blended tips — smooth curves without angular sharklets. Engine nacelles are light grey throughout. Registration G-EOMA is on the aft fuselage in black.
Model Craftsmanship & Collector Value
Phoenix PH11963 is produced in diecast alloy at 1:400 on the A330-200 tooling. Monarch Airlines no longer operates, making every model depicting its aircraft a preservation of a defunct carrier's livery. G-EOMA as the last A330 in Monarch service gives this specific registration an identifiable endpoint in the airline's widebody history — a detail that drives collector interest beyond standard fleet models.
