Lufthansa D-ABPA is a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner carrying MSN 62730 (line number 905), delivered to Lufthansa on 29 August 2022 — the carrier's first-ever Boeing 787 delivery, marking a historic expansion of Lufthansa's wide-body fleet after decades as an all-Airbus wide-body operator. The aircraft previously carried the pre-delivery registration N1006F during Boeing test and production flights. D-ABPA entered service in Lufthansa's refreshed livery with "Dreamliner" lettering below the airline name, a distinguishing feature absent from earlier long-haul types.
