1:400 Diecast: Ethiopian Airlines Airbus A350-900 ET-AYN "Selamta / Star Alliance" (Phoenix PH11725)
ET-AYN is Airbus A350-941 MSN 542, which rolled out of Toulouse on its first flight on 21 October 2021 and was delivered to Ethiopian Airlines on 10 December 2021—the airline's 14th A350 at that time. Ethiopian operates this aircraft named Selamta (ሰላምታ, Amharic for "greetings"), and it wears a full Star Alliance special livery. Ethiopian was the first African carrier to operate the A350 XWB, taking delivery of MSN 40 (ET-ATQ) in June 2016; ET-AYN represents the fleet's steady growth into long-haul corridors including routes to Asia, North America, and Europe.
Livery & Visual Details
The fuselage is white with bold black "STAR ALLIANCE" lettering stretching across the mid-fuselage, each character outlined in a dotted pattern. "Ethiopian" appears in red italic script below the alliance text. The rear fuselage carries Amharic characters reading ሰላምታ (Selamta), with "AIRBUS A350-900" and registration ET-AYN printed beneath. The Ethiopian golden lion emblem sits on the nose alongside a Star Alliance ring logo. The vertical stabilizer is solid black, bearing the Star Alliance five-pointed silver star motif; the fin cap carries the green-yellow-red Ethiopian flag stripe. ET-AYN's A350 signature curved wingtips taper to a gold accent tip. Rolls-Royce Trent XWB engines show white nacelles and dark intake lips.
Model Craftsmanship & Collectibility
Phoenix Models cast this release as PH11725, one of the few 1:400 representations of Ethiopian's Star Alliance A350 livery on the Airbus A350-900 mould. The model ships with rolling gear and no display stand. Phoenix's precision tampo printing replicates the Amharic script and dotted Star Alliance lettering. The aircraft's name "Selamta" and aircraft type designation are legible on the rear fuselage of the finished model.
