1:400 Diecast: Air Pacific Boeing 767-3X2ER DQ-FJC "Island of Taveuni" (Phoenix PH11989)
DQ-FJC, MSN 26260 (Line Number 552), was delivered to Air Pacific on 16 September 1994 as the airline's second Boeing 767-300ER. The aircraft was named "Island of Taveuni" after one of Fiji's major islands. DQ-FJC operated Air Pacific's long-haul network connecting Nadi with Australia, New Zealand, and the US West Coast for nearly two decades before being placed in storage in January 2012 and subsequently disposed of as N531CL. Air Pacific itself rebranded as Fiji Airways on 27 June 2013.
Livery & Visual Detail
The model captures Air Pacific's vibrant pre-rebrand livery. The forward fuselage and nose are white with "AIR PACIFIC" in dark blue above the windows. From mid-fuselage aft, a sweeping gradient band of yellow through orange to deep maroon-red wraps the aircraft body, blending into the dark blue tail section. The vertical stabilizer is dark blue with the white "Fiji" wordmark and a rainbow arc in red, orange, yellow, and blue above it. "DQ-FJC" in white and "BOEING 767-300ER" appear within the maroon section of the colour band. Engine nacelles are white. Wingtips are raked, consistent with the 767-300ER standard configuration.
Model & Collectibility
Phoenix PH11989 preserves the Air Pacific livery from DQ-FJC's 1994–1999 period, before the carrier adopted later colour revisions. Air Pacific operated only a handful of 767s under this scheme, making DQ-FJC a focused collector subject. Model length 13.74 cm, wingspan 11.90 cm. Die-cast metal.
