G-VELJ, MSN 507, ferried from Toulouse to London Heathrow on 25 May 2024. Powered by two Rolls-Royce Trent XWB-97 engines, the A350-1000 is the largest variant in the A350 family, stretching 73.8 metres with a range exceeding 16,000 km. Virgin Atlantic operates the type on long-haul routes out of Heathrow, with G-VELJ joining a fleet that first received the A350-1000 in 2019 with G-VLUX.

Livery & Visual Details

The model reproduces the current Virgin Atlantic livery: gloss white fuselage, with "virgin atlantic" in deep plum-purple script along the cabin windows. The vertical stabilizer and engine nacelles are vivid crimson red. "Virgin" in white script decorates the tail. The nacelle intake lips are polished metallic silver with charcoal exhaust cones. The characteristic raked wingtips of the A350 are white with crimson red outer accent strips. Nose art beneath the cockpit depicts the airline's signature Flying Lady holding a Union Jack flag, flanked by a circular emblem.

Model Craft & Collectibility

NG Models NG57028 is cast on the A350-1000 mold, a long fuselage tooling distinct from the -900 version. The deep-red nacelles and plum-purple fuselage script require precise color matching; NG Models' diecast construction renders both against the white airframe accurately at this scale. G-VELJ represents the most recently delivered examples in Virgin Atlantic's widebody fleet.
