On December 21, 2024, Sun Country unveiled this aircraft in its first-ever custom-designed livery — a maroon and gold scheme celebrating the University of Minnesota Golden Gophers Athletics, the Official Airline of which Sun Country has been since 2023. Sun Country has operated charter service for Gopher Athletics teams since 2012, completing nearly 500 charters over twelve years before this livery debut. The aircraft, internally called "tail number 809," was among the first to fly the Gopher football team to the Duke's Mayo Bowl in Charlotte, NC on December 30, 2024.

Livery & Visual Details

The forward two-thirds of the fuselage and nose cone are bright yellow. The aft lower fuselage and belly are dark maroon. "sun-country" appears in white on the forward yellow section, preceded by a small yellow rectangular icon. Below it, in smaller white text: "PROUD SPONSOR OF MINNESOTA GOLDEN GOPHERS ATHLETICS". Registration N809SY and "BOEING 737-800" appear in black on the rear fuselage. The vertical stabilizer is dark maroon with a large stylized yellow "S" and surrounding yellow starburst patterns. Horizontal stabilizers are also maroon. Blended winglets are dark maroon, matching the engine nacelles.
