A62-001 (MSN 67959, line number 8532) is the first of two Boeing 737-8 BBJ (Boeing Business Jet) aircraft ordered by the Royal Australian Air Force to replace its legacy BBJ fleet. The aircraft, initially registered N786BJ for Boeing test and ferry purposes, was spotted at Basel and Dallas during pre-delivery checks in mid-2024 and delivered to the RAAF in 2024 as part of the Special Purpose Aircraft fleet. Powered by CFM International LEAP-1B28 engines, A62-001 serves the VIP/government transport role for senior Australian officials.

Livery & Visual Details

White fuselage with the RAAF's dark blue cheatline sweeping from the nose along the lower fuselage, curving upward toward the tail, with a thinner red stripe directly below. "ROYAL AUSTRALIAN AIR FORCE" runs in red lettering along the upper fuselage above the window line. The vertical stabilizer is white with the Australian national flag displayed on its upper half; "A62-001" printed in dark text below the flag. RAAF roundels — blue circle with red kangaroo silhouette — appear on the forward port fuselage and upper wing. A small Australian flag decal sits just aft of the cockpit windows. Blended winglets. Engine nacelles are white with polished silver intake rims.
