Registered as a 747-8B5 — the intercontinental passenger variant customer code for Korean Air's 747-8i orders — the aircraft operated Korean Air's long-haul routes across the Pacific and to Europe, including the flagship Seoul Incheon to Los Angeles service. HL7636 was placed in storage in December 2025, with the airframe subsequently transferring to Sierra Nevada Corporation in the United States, marking its exit from Korean Air's active fleet after nearly a decade of service.
