N781HA, MSN 66429 (line number 1172), rolled out of Boeing's North Charleston facility and was delivered to Hawaiian Airlines on 14 February 2024 — the carrier's very first 787-9 Dreamliner. Named Kapuahi, the aircraft entered trans-Pacific service from Honolulu. In February 2026, following Hawaiian Airlines' integration into Alaska Airlines, N781HA transferred to Alaska Airlines' operating certificate.

Livery & Visual Details

The model wears the full Hawaiian Airlines Pualani livery. A white fuselage gives way to a sweeping wash of pink, magenta, and purple floral motifs across the rear fuselage and belly. The vertical stabilizer carries a dark-purple-to-magenta gradient bearing the iconic Pualani profile — a woman's face in white with a red flower at her ear. Forward fuselage reads "HAWAIIAN" in dark blue above a row of flying geese dots; "N781HA" and "DREAMLINER" appear on the aft section. Wingtips are the characteristic swept-back raked tips of the 787 family. Landing gear is deployed and static.
