ET-AYN (MSN 542) ferried from Toulouse (TLS) to Addis Ababa (ADD) on December 10–11, 2021, entering Ethiopian Airlines' fleet as the carrier's eleventh Airbus A350-900. Named "Selamta ሰላምታ" — the Amharic word for greeting — it was delivered wearing the Star Alliance special livery from the outset. The A350-941 variant carries Rolls-Royce Trent XWB-84 engines. Ethiopian Airlines operates Africa's largest A350 fleet.

Livery & Visual Details

The Star Alliance livery replaces the standard Ethiopian colour scheme entirely: white fuselage base, black vertical stabilizer carrying the Star Alliance logo — three interlocking silver triangular arrowheads in a circular arrangement. "STAR ALLIANCE" runs in large black capital letters across the forward fuselage; "Ethiopian" appears in red script below with Amharic text aft. The tail-stripe cascade from the nose extends along the belly in red and white. Raked wingtips carry Ethiopian national flag colours (green, yellow, red) at the tips. Engine nacelles are white with smooth exhaust nozzles. "ET-AYN" appears on the rear fuselage and on the upper wing surface.
