1:400 Diecast: Delta Air Lines Airbus A330-223 N857NW (NG Models NG61096)
N857NW is an Airbus A330-223 (MSN 633), a Pratt & Whitney PW4000-series-powered A330-200 that first flew under the Northwest Airlines banner on 17 November 2004 and joined Delta Air Lines on 5 October 2009 after the two carriers merged. The -223 variant designation confirms the PW4168A powerplant — distinguishing it from the GE-powered -243 and the Rolls-Royce Trent-powered -243ER sub-types. At over two decades of service, the airframe represents the trans-oceanic backbone of Northwest's Europe and Asia routes before those were absorbed by Delta.
Livery & Visual Details
Gloss white fuselage with deep navy blue engine nacelles and the same navy sweep on the lower belly characteristic of Delta's current livery. The vertical stabilizer is white with a navy blue leading-edge and top section, into which the red-and-white Delta widget logo is integrated at the trailing portion. "DELTA" in blue text precedes a small red widget on the forward fuselage. Registration N857NW and a small American flag appear on the upper rear fuselage. Wingtip devices are the classic tall curved blended winglets in light grey — not Sharklets, consistent with the A330-200 original production specification. Engine exhaust cones are smooth with no chevrons.
Model Craftsmanship & Collector Notes
NG Models NG61096, all-metal diecast. The A330-200 mold is shorter than the NG Models A330-300, accurately reflecting the real aircraft's reduced fuselage length relative to the -300 variant.
