1:400 Diecast: Condor Boeing 767-31BER D-ABUM "Retro Livery / White Nose Tip" (NG Models NG17009)
D-ABUM, MSN 25170 (Line Number 542), made its first flight on May 17, 1994, and began a multi-airline career spanning nearly three decades. Ordered by ILFC, the aircraft was delivered to China Southern Airlines on May 27, 1994, as B-2566. It passed to Eurofly as EI-CRF in December 1998, then to Alitalia in December 2001, serving that carrier for almost eleven years. Condor took delivery in late August 2012, reregistering the aircraft as D-ABUM. Powered by two General Electric CF6-80C2B6F engines, D-ABUM accumulated over 114,000 flight hours and 18,000 cycles across its lifetime. Condor retired D-ABUM in January 2023, after which the aircraft was ferried for storage and eventual scrapping.
Livery & Visual Detail
Condor's retro 1980s-era scheme applied to D-ABUM: Eurowhite upper fuselage with a thin dark blue cheatline separating it from a light grey lower section. The vertical stabilizer is entirely bright yellow — Condor's heritage accent color. A black stylized crane logo sits centered on the yellow tail, matching a smaller crane on the grey nose below the cockpit windows. "Condor" appears in black sans-serif on the white forward fuselage. The registration D-ABUM is on the upper aft fuselage. The distinctive white-painted radome nose tip contrasts against the grey lower fuselage — the "white nose tip" variant noted in the product title. Blended winglets are painted yellow, matching the tail. Engine nacelles are light grey.
Model Craft & Collectibility
NG Models NG17009 preserves D-ABUM's retro livery in diecast — a scheme that Condor applied specifically to this aircraft as a tribute to the airline's 1970s-era heritage colors. The aircraft flew the retro livery for approximately a decade before retirement. With D-ABUM scrapped in 2023, this model is the permanent record of an airframe that passed through five operators across three continents over 29 years.
