The Comac C919 is China's domestically developed narrow-body airliner, designed to compete in the single-aisle segment alongside the Airbus A320 family and Boeing 737 family. The first C919 prototype rolled out on 2 November 2015 and completed its maiden flight on 5 May 2017 from Shanghai Pudong, powered by CFM International LEAP-1C engines. This model represents the "blank machine"—the unbranded test/prototype configuration—with no airline livery, capturing the aircraft's pre-delivery identity. The model carries numerous small red test markings on the fuselage, consistent with prototype or pre-delivery aircraft instrumentation points and safety annotations visible on production prototypes.

A red stylized logo is present on the lower nacelles of both engines. Sharklets are fitted at both wingtips—the upward-curved blended tip devices on production C919s. Small red test/prototype markings appear around the cockpit windows, door surrounds, and along the lower fuselage, consistent with the C919's pre-service test configuration.
