B-1201 (MSN 63249, Line Number 6625) made its first flight on 13 November 2017 and was delivered to China Southern Airlines on 29 November 2017. Following the global 737 MAX grounding triggered by the two fatal accidents, China Southern's entire MAX fleet was grounded in March 2019 and returned to service only after CAAC re-certification in December 2022. B-1201 remains in active service with China Southern.

Livery & Visual Details

The model wears China Southern's standard house livery: white fuselage with Chinese characters reading "China Southern Airlines" in blue on the forward fuselage, followed by "CHINA SOUTHERN" in blue English text. A blue stripe runs along the lower edge of the passenger windows from nose to tail. The vertical stabilizer is vivid blue, carrying the red kapok (cotton tree) flower — China Southern's corporate symbol. The Boeing 737 MAX 8's distinctive AT winglets are reproduced: the split scimitar configuration with an upward-raked main tip and a short downward cant, colored blue on the outer surfaces to match the tail. The larger-diameter LEAP-1B engine nacelles are accurately represented in light grey, with the characteristic slightly flattened lower profile of the CFM LEAP installation. Registration B-1201 appears in black on the rear fuselage and on the winglets.

NG Models NG24194 is a 1:200 scale release of the 737 MAX 8 — a larger format that brings out the visual differences between the MAX and the NG family more clearly than 1:400. The oversized LEAP nacelles and the distinctive advanced technology winglets are the key visual identifiers of the MAX generation, both captured on this mold.
