1:400 Diecast: Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner N8290V (NG Models). This aircraft (MSN 66806) was built in 2024 and is registered as a Boeing testbed and demonstration aircraft. It wears a simple white livery with a light blue "Dreamliner" stripe and "787-10" titles—no airline branding, just the Boeing logo on the tail. The 787-10 is the longest member of the Dreamliner family, stretching 68.3 metres to carry more passengers while sacrificing some range compared to its siblings.

Flight test history: N8290V has been active throughout 2025 and early 2026 conducting certification and customer demonstration flights. Tracking data shows it operating out of Boeing Field (BFI), with flights to destinations including Victorville (VCV) for storage checks and Moses Lake (MWH) for testing. On February 24, 2026, it was recorded flying from Seattle to Victorville, and in late 2025 it made multiple visits to Moses Lake. The aircraft is powered by two General Electric GEnx-1B engines, identifiable by their distinctive chevron-shaped exhaust nozzles.

The 787-10 in context: The -10 variant was designed for high-density long-haul routes where range isn't the primary concern but capacity is. It has a maximum range of approximately 11,100-12,000 km depending on configuration—about 1,400 km shorter than the 787-9—but can carry 15% more passengers. Typical seating ranges from 325 to 344 passengers in two-class layouts. Airlines like Singapore Airlines (launch customer), United, Korean Air, British Airways, KLM, and ANA operate the type. This particular airframe (N8290V) serves as a factory demonstrator, allowing potential customers to experience the type before committing to orders.

About this model: NG Models released N8290V in 1:400 scale, capturing the aircraft in its clean Boeing house colours with the light blue Dreamliner stripe. At 17 cm long with a 15 cm wingspan, it features detailed GEnx-1B engine fans with chevrons, the characteristic 787-10 stretched fuselage, and raked wingtips. For collectors of Boeing prototypes, Dreamliner variants, or aircraft with recent flight test activity, this represents the largest 787 in its natural habitat—still wearing Boeing's own colours.
