1:400 Diecast: Air New Zealand Airbus A321neo ZK-OYB "Star Alliance" (NG Models NG13056)

ZK-OYB carries MSN 11049, manufactured at Airbus Hamburg-Finkenwerder and delivered to Air New Zealand on 19 November 2022, arriving in Auckland on 23 November 2022 via Muscat–Kuala Lumpur–Cairns. This A321-271NX (A321neo XLR-configured family) joined the carrier's domestic and trans-Tasman fleet. Air New Zealand applied the full-black Star Alliance livery to ZK-OYB, making it the world's first A321neo wearing the alliance's all-black-fuselage scheme.

Livery & Visual Details

The entire fuselage, tail, and dorsal surface are painted matte black. "STAR ALLIANCE" runs in large white text across the center fuselage above the window line; "AIR NEW ZEALAND" appears in smaller white text below, forward of the wing. The vertical stabilizer displays the Star Alliance five-star logo in silver-grey. Matching Star Alliance logos appear on the outer face of each sharklet, which are black outboard and light grey inboard. Engine nacelles are white with CFM LEAP-1A powerplants, featuring a silver intake rim. Wing undersurfaces and horizontal stabilizers are light grey against the black upper surfaces.

NG Models produced NG13056 at 1:400 scale in diecast metal with pre-painted sharklets. The all-black scheme presents a high-contrast display piece distinct from any standard Air New Zealand livery release. Star Alliance special-livery releases tend to attract both airline and alliance collectors simultaneously, reflecting dual-market demand.
