Registration B-2445 (MSN 25882, Line 1021) first flew on 18 February 1994 and was delivered to Air China on 25 February 1994. The 747-4J6 served the carrier for 30 years on domestic trunk routes including Beijing–Shanghai and Beijing–Shenzhen before retirement on 6 September 2024 — the last passenger 747-400 to retire from Air China's fleet. The aircraft was subsequently listed for sale at USD 13.6 million in 2025.
Livery & Visual Detail
White fuselage with a thin double dark-blue cheatline along the lower fuselage. "AIR CHINA" is lettered in bold dark-blue on the forward fuselage, accompanied by a small Chinese national flag with five yellow stars. Chinese characters reading "Zhongguo Guoji Hangkong Gongsi" appear on the main fuselage above the cheatline. The registration B-2445 is printed in blue on the aft lower fuselage and on the underside of the starboard wing. The vertical stabilizer is white with the large red Air China phoenix logo. Classic flat wingtips — no winglets. Four PW4056 engines in light grey nacelles.
