B-16722 is EVA Air's dedicated Sanrio Characters promotional aircraft, operating as the largest canvas in the airline's long-running Hello Kitty jet programme. The airframe carries manufacturer serial number 42107 (Line Number 1302) and was delivered to EVA Air on 27 May 2015, leased from GECAS. It is a Boeing 777-36N(ER) variant — the extended-range version of the 777-300 — powered by two General Electric GE90-115B engines, the highest-thrust turbofan certified for commercial service. The aircraft operates long-haul routes across Asia, North America and Australia, bringing the Sanrio livery to a wide international collector audience.

Livery & Visual Details

The entire fuselage below the windowline is covered in a dense collage of Sanrio characters on a white base — Hello Kitty, My Melody, Kuromi, Cinnamoroll, Little Twin Stars and Pompompurin are all represented in pastel pink, blue, yellow and lavender. "SANRIOCHARACTERS" is printed in pink block lettering on the forward upper cabin. "EVA AIR" appears in green on the upper fuselage. The vertical stabiliser is the airline's signature deep green, carrying the twelve-point compass-star logo. The two GE90-115B nacelles are grey; their large-diameter intakes (approximately 3.25 m in real life) define the silhouette. Classic raked wingtips. Rolling gear extended — undercarriage deployed.
