1:400 Diecast: Airbus BelugaXL A330-700L F-GXLH "BelugaXL #2" (NG Models NG60012)

F-GXLH is BelugaXL No. 2 — MSN 1853 — and the first of the type to enter revenue service. While MSN 1824 (F-WBXL / F-GXLG) served as the test machine, F-GXLH completed its first flight on 15 April 2019 and was delivered to Airbus Transport International in December 2019, ahead of the prototype. Powered by two Rolls-Royce Trent 700 engines, the aircraft operates between Airbus facilities in Hamburg, Toulouse, Broughton, and Saint-Nazaire, carrying wing sets, fuselage sections, and other large aircraft components.

Livery & Visual Detail

The model presents the standard Airbus Transport International BelugaXL livery: a white fuselage with "AIRBUS" in blue and "BELUGA" in dark blue on the forward fuselage. The large light-grey "XL" graphic overlaps the mid-aft fuselage. The vertical stabiliser runs from deep blue at the base to a layered blue-to-white curve pattern, with the horizontal stabiliser tips showing orange accent stripes. The nose section carries the signature smiling-whale face — black curved mouth line and round eye-dot markings below the cockpit windows. Wing-mounted horizontal stabiliser tip numbers "2" in dark blue identify this as the second airframe. Sharklet wingtips; Trent 700 white nacelles. Landing gear extended.

Model Craft & Collector Value

NG Models' BelugaXL tooling correctly represents the A330-700L's distinctive double-bubble fuselage cross-section, which the original Beluga (A300-600ST) pioneered. F-GXLH is designated BelugaXL #2, the first to log commercial operational cycles — a detail that differentiates it from the test-registered F-WBXL editions in NG60018 and NG60019.
