Vulkan Air is a Ukrainian cargo carrier operating Soviet-era Antonov turboprop transports on contract freight and humanitarian missions across Europe and Africa. The Antonov An-26B is a twin-engine high-wing turboprop freighter derived from the An-24, produced in the Soviet Union between 1969 and 1986. Vulkan Air's An-26B fleet, including airframes registered in the UR- series, has logged decades of service as a niche operator in the post-Soviet cargo market. JC Wings item VKA001 marks the first release of an An-26B in the company's 1:400 scale catalogue.

Livery & Visual Detail

The model presents a white fuselage with a bold blue graphic scheme. A flowing, stylised blue design occupies the lower forward fuselage and transitions into a thick sweeping blue stripe running aft toward the tail. The vertical stabilizer upper half features multiple horizontal blue bands of varying shades against the white fin. Blue paint also covers the lower forward engine nacelles on both turboprop installations. Each engine carries a four-bladed propeller in black with yellow blade tips and a metallic silver spinner. Wingtips and stabiliser leading edges carry small red accent marks.

Model Craft & Collectibility

Cast in diecast metal to 1:400 scale by JC Wings, Item VKA001. This is the only An-26 mould available in the 1:400 format, making VKA001 the sole option for collectors targeting Soviet turboprop cargo aircraft at this scale. At 5.95 cm length and 7.33 cm wingspan. The Ivchenko AI-24VT turboprop powers each engine with a five-blade propeller in service aircraft (model depicts four-blade representation). A short-run release aimed at niche collectors of post-Soviet and Eastern European cargo operators.
