1:400 Diecast: T'way Air Boeing 777-300ER HL8706 Flaps Down (JC Wings XX40667A)

HL8706 (MSN 41430) first flew on November 14, 2013, originally delivered to Cathay Pacific as B-KQK. The 777-367(ER) variant is a Boeing Customer-specific designation for the 777-300ER series. After operating within Korean Air's fleet, HL8706 was leased to T'way Air from February 2025 — one of the first Boeing 777-300ERs to enter the T'way fleet as the South Korean LCC expands into long-haul international operations. The aircraft is powered by two General Electric GE90-115BL2 engines, the highest-thrust certified turbofan engine series in commercial service. This flaps-down variant captures the aircraft in a landing or approach configuration.

Livery & Visual Details

T'way Air's livery divides the fuselage into a vibrant glossy red upper section from just aft of the cockpit to the tail, and a clean white lower fuselage. The vertical stabilizer is fully red with a large stylized lowercase "t" in white featuring a small bright green apostrophe — T'way's distinctive brand mark. The name "t'way" appears in large red lettering with the green apostrophe on the forward fuselage above the wing. The aircraft's trailing-edge flaps are extended in the down position, representing a short-final or landing configuration. Engine nacelles are silver-gray with the airline's website text on the undersides. Raked wingtips are present on the wing tips.

Model Craft & Collectibility

JC Wings XX40667A is a 1:400 diecast metal model in the flaps-down configuration — a specialized variant that requires additional tooling to represent extended control surfaces. T'way Air's entry into widebody long-haul service with the 777-300ER, beginning 2025, makes this among the first diecast releases representing the carrier in this livery and type. Model dimensions: 18.48 cm length, 16.2 cm wingspan.
