1:400 Diecast: T'way Air Boeing 777-300ER HL8706 (JC Wings XX40667)

HL8706 carries MSN 41430 (line number 1159), a Boeing 777-367ER that first flew on 14 November 2013. Boeing delivered the airframe to Cathay Pacific on 5 December 2013, where it operated as B-KQK for over a decade. Following Cathay's retirement of the type, the aircraft transferred to T'way Air in February 2025, making HL8706 one of the South Korean low-cost carrier's first widebody jets — a notable operational milestone for T'way's long-haul expansion. Two General Electric GE90-115BL2 engines power the aircraft.

Livery & Visual Details

The model replicates T'way Air's current red-and-white scheme. A vivid red band covers the upper fuselage from the window line to the crown, carrying directly onto the entire vertical stabilizer. Below the division, the lower fuselage and belly remain white. The "t'way" wordmark appears in bold red letters on the forward fuselage, with the distinctive bright-green accent comma in the apostrophe position — a brand hallmark replicated on both the fuselage script and the oversized white "t" logo on the tail. The aircraft registration HL8706 is printed in black near the aft fuselage. White engine nacelles carry the airline's website text in small black print. The wingtips are raked — the swept-back, gently curved extensions characteristic of the 777-300ER, distinct from the blended winglet devices fitted to narrowbodies.

Model Craft & Collectability

Produced by JC Wings under item number XX40667 at 1:400 scale in diecast metal alloy. The model represents T'way's early widebody era: only a handful of aircraft wear this red livery in the 777 configuration, giving this release strong provenance for collectors tracking the airline's fleet evolution.
