Boeing delivered the airframe to Cathay Pacific on 5 December 2013, where it operated as B-KQK for over a decade. Following Cathay's retirement of the type, the aircraft transferred to T'way Air in February 2025, making HL8706 one of the South Korean low-cost carrier's first widebody jets — a notable operational milestone for T'way's long-haul expansion.
