1:400 Diecast: Lufthansa Boeing 747-400M D-ABTH "Star Alliance" Named "Duisburg" (JC Wings XX40670)

D-ABTH (MSN 25047) is a Boeing 747-400M — the Combi passenger/freight variant — delivered to Lufthansa in June 1991. The aircraft was named "Duisburg" and powered by four General Electric CF6-80C2B1F turbofans. In February 2003, D-ABTH received the Star Alliance special livery: an all-black vertical stabilizer carrying the five-triangle Star Alliance star logo, with "STAR ALLIANCE" applied in large black lettering along the upper fuselage and the Lufthansa crane logo retained on the forward fuselage. The aircraft operated in this livery at Narita, Frankfurt, and other Lufthansa long-haul ports during the early 2000s.

Livery & Visual Detail

The fuselage is white. "STAR ALLIANCE" runs in large black sans-serif capitals along the upper fuselage from the cockpit area past the wings. "Lufthansa" wordmark and the iconic blue crane-in-circle logo are positioned on the forward fuselage below. The vertical stabilizer is fully black with the five-triangle Star Alliance mark centred on it. "TH" in white appears near the tail top. All four engine nacelles are light grey; Lufthansa crane logos are present on the nacelle sides. German flag and registration D-ABTH in black on the aft lower fuselage. Landing gear shown retracted in available product images (main gear retracted, nose gear extended in primary display orientation). Classic blended winglets typical of 747-400 production.

Model Craft & Collectibility

JC Wings released XX40670 in March 2025. The model uses the 747-400 mould with rollable landing gear. A flaps-down variant (XX40670A) was also announced for pre-order. Among 747 Star Alliance livery models, D-ABTH "Duisburg" in the Combi configuration is catalogued separately from the all-passenger -400 variants at other carriers. JC Wings XX40670 comes with antenna fitted.
