D-AIMH is Lufthansa's Airbus A380-841, MSN 070, delivered on 7 July 2011. Named "The New York," it carries Lufthansa's tradition of assigning city names to widebody aircraft — a naming convention that links each airframe to a flagship route. MSN 070 entered service on the Frankfurt–New York transatlantic corridor, where the A380's 500-plus seat capacity justified deployment. The aircraft operates four Rolls-Royce Trent 970 engines.

Livery & Visual Detail

The model depicts the classic Lufthansa livery: clean white fuselage with dark blue "Lufthansa" titles above the main-deck windows, followed by "Airbus A380-800" type designation and the aircraft name "The New York" in smaller black text. The vertical stabilizer is deep navy blue carrying the iconic yellow Lufthansa crane emblem in a circular disc. Registration D-AIMH appears in black on the aft fuselage alongside a small German flag decal. A Star Alliance logo marks the nose area below the cockpit. Four grey engine nacelles sit in pairs under each wing. Wingtip fences — the A380's distinctive vertically oriented tips — are painted white matching the wing surface. "MH" appears in white at the top of the blue tail.

JC Wings produces XX20451 at 1:200 scale in diecast metal, capturing the A380-841's 79.75-metre wingspan in a 39.9 cm model span. The 1:200 format renders the A380's sheer size — the largest commercial passenger aircraft in production during its era — as a substantial display piece. The XX20451 release represents D-AIMH in its original standard Lufthansa livery, distinct from the special schemes the airframe has subsequently worn.
