Japan Airlines Airbus A350-900XWB registered JA02XJ carries MSN 333, first flew on 8 July 2019 under test registration F-WZFX, and was delivered to JAL on 30 August 2019. It was JAL's second A350-900 and one of the first three delivered in the carrier's commemorative "A350" special scheme — each of the trio bearing a different title representing JAL's three corporate values. In May 2024 the aircraft sustained a wingtip contact with JA01XJ during a tow operation at Haneda, subsequently returning to service on domestic routes configured for 369 passengers across three cabins.

Livery & Visual Details

The fuselage is clean white with "JAPAN AIRLINES" in black serif capitals on the forward upper section, followed by a solid red disc. The lower fuselage carries "AIRBUS A350-900" and the grey stylised "A350 XWB" graphic aft of the wing box. The registration JA02XJ appears in black near the rear fuselage. The wingtips are distinctively red-painted swept raked tips, not Sharklets — characteristic of the A350 family. The vertical stabiliser is white, dominated by the JAL Arc of the Sun crane logo in red with "JAL" below in black. JA02XJはMSN 333の日本航空エアバスA350-941で、2019年7月8日にテスト登録符号F-WZFXで初飛行し、同年8月30日に日本航空へ引き渡されました。JALのA350-900国内線仕様機第2号機であり、同社が"創造性""挑戦""安全"を象徴する3機特別塗装の1機として就航。機体配色はシルバー調の"A350"ロゴを前胴体に配した記念塗装で、ANAとは対照的にJAL独自の国内線広幅機フリートの幕開けを告げた1機です。2024年5月23日、羽田空港地上牽引中にJA01XJと翼端接触事故が発生しましたが、修理後に運航を再開しています。国内線3クラス369席（ファースト12・クラスJ 94・普通席263）での運航機体です。

【塗装・外観】垂直尾翼は白色地に赤い"鶴丸"（太陽のアーク）ロゴ、その下に黒字"JAL"。機首前方の白い胴体上部に黒セリフ体大文字"JAPAN AIRLINES"、その右に赤い円形マーク。下部胴体には"AIRBUS A350-900"と"A350 XWB"グレーグラフィックが入り、後部胴体に黒字でJA02XJのレジ番が明記されています。翼端はA350ファミリー特有の後退角付きレイクトウィングチップで、赤く塗装されているのが特徴。エンジン（ロールス・ロイス トレントXWB）は滑らかなノズルエッジに濃いグレーのファンブレード。胴体上面に3本のブレードアンテナが確認できます。
