1:200 Diecast: Iran Air Boeing 727-86 EP-IRB "See Through the Windows" (JC Wings XX20165)

EP-IRB carries MSN 19172 and was delivered to Iran Air on 13 October 1966, named "Abadan" after the Iranian city on the Persian Gulf. This Boeing 727-86 was one of the earliest jet aircraft to enter Iran Air's fleet, supporting the carrier's growth as Iran's flag carrier during the pre-revolution era. EP-IRB operated with Iran Air for over three decades before being withdrawn from use at Tehran Mehrabad around 2000; the airframe was later preserved from 2010 onward, making it a rare surviving example of Iran Air's early jet history.

Livery & Visual Details

The model depicts Iran Air's classic livery: an entirely white fuselage with "IranAir" in large dark teal/blue lettering on the forward fuselage, preceded by a small Iranian flag — green, white, and red horizontal stripes with the central emblem. Below the window line aft of the wing, Persian script and the registration "EP-IRB" appear in dark grey, with "The Airline of the Islamic Republic of Iran" in English below. The vertical stabilizer has a white body with a dark blue upper swooping section that frames Iran Air's "Homa" — the mythical griffin bird emblem — in dark teal on the white portion. This is a trijet: two JT8D-7B engines mount on the rear fuselage pylons and a third routes through an S-duct intake at the base of the tail. All three engine nacelles are white. Classic flat wingtips, no winglets or sharklets.

Model Craft & Collectibility

JC Wings item XX20165 produced this model with the "See Through the Windows" interior visibility feature at 1:200 scale. EP-IRB's status as a 1966-vintage delivery and long-serving Iran Air classic makes it a historically significant subject for collectors of pre-deregulation and Middle East aviation history. Diecast metal construction with display stand included.
