1:200 Diecast: De Havilland Canada Dash 8-Q200 C-FBCS "The Quiet One" (JC Wings LH2370)

C-FBCS is Bombardier's own Q200 demonstrator aircraft, built in 1995 and re-registered from its factory identity to C-FBCS in 1999. The "Q" in Q200 stands for "Quiet" — referring to the Active Noise and Vibration Suppression (ANVS) system that dramatically reduced cabin noise levels versus the earlier Dash 8-200. Bombardier used this specific airframe to demonstrate that technology to prospective operators, fitting it in the distinctive lilac fan-blade livery that earns the nickname "The Quiet One." The text "Q200 The Quiet One" is printed on both fuselage sides, with the Q-series fanblade motif repeated across the wings and stabilisers.

Livery & Visual Detail

White base fuselage with a sweeping abstract pattern in lavender/lilac, resembling overlapping fan blades, covering the forward and mid-fuselage from just behind the cockpit and wrapping up the vertical stabilizer. Black stripe on the leading edge of the tail fin. "Q200" in large purple styling on the forward fuselage with "The Quiet One" below it; registration "C-FBCS" on the rear fuselage. Four-blade dark propellers on both PT6A-type turboprop engines. No wingtip extensions; classic Dash 8 straight tips. Full landing gear deployed, nose and main gear visible.

Model Craftsmanship & Collectibility

JC Wings uses the original DHC-8-100/200 mould (introduced 2009), one of only two 1:200 scale DHC-8 short-fuselage moulds in production. The propeller blades spin freely. At 11.13 cm length the model is compact but carries extensive tampo-printed fine detail including cockpit window frames, door outlines, and the asymmetric livery applied differently on port and starboard sides — a livery quirk the mould captures correctly. Fewer than 15 releases have used this mould across all scales, making any Q200 variant a relatively scarce find.
