N986TA, MSN 19000360, began its career as a passenger ERJ-190 delivered to JetBlue in September 2010 (registered N304JB). After passing through TACA and Avianca El Salvador, the airframe was selected by Embraer as the conversion prototype for the E-Freighter programme — a passenger-to-freighter modification that removes cabin seating, blanks the passenger windows, and installs a large forward main-deck cargo door. The prototype completed its first flight as a freighter on 5 April 2024 at São José dos Campos. In March 2026 N986TA was delivered to Bridges Air Cargo, re-registered 9H-BRD, marking the first commercial customer delivery of the E-Freighter type.

Livery & Visual Details

White fuselage with a bright blue stripe running from the crown of the cockpit along the upper fuselage to the tail. Vertical stabilizer is solid royal blue bearing the Embraer yellow geometric bird emblem. "E-FREIGHTER" in light blue lettering dominates the port mid-fuselage; "E190F" appears in a smaller line below. The registration N986TA is printed aft in matching light blue. Passenger windows are absent — smooth fuselage panels replace the window line, the clearest visual marker of the freight conversion. The forward port-side main-deck cargo door is clearly rendered. Blue-painted winglets cap both wingtips. Two GE CF34-10E engines hang under the wing in standard ERJ-190 configuration.
