McDonnell Douglas DC-9-15MC registered OH-LYI carries MSN 47045, line number 184. One of only two DC-9-15MC variants in the Finnair fleet, this aircraft served the Finnish carrier primarily on European routes. The DC-9-15MC is the mixed-configuration freighter variant of the DC-9-15 series.

Livery & Visual Details

The classic Finnair livery of the DC-9 era presents a white fuselage with a bold dark blue horizontal cheatline running the length of the cabin windows. "FINNAIR" appears in blue capitals on the forward fuselage. The vertical stabilizer is white, displaying a large stylised blue cross—a reference to the Finnish flag—on its upper portion. "DC-9" is printed in blue on the lower tail fin section. Rear-mounted JT8D engines have silver-grey nacelles. Standard unadorned wingtips with no winglets are present, consistent with the original DC-9 wing design.
