N986TA (MSN 19000360) holds a singular place in aviation history: it was the first Embraer E-Jet ever converted to a freighter under Embraer's Passenger-to-Freighter programme. Originally delivered as an E190 passenger aircraft, the airframe entered Embraer's São José dos Campos facility and completed its maiden post-conversion flight on 5 April 2024 — marking the start of a new chapter for regional cargo aviation.
