1:200 Diecast: Boeing 767-432ER N76400 "Polished" House Colors (JC Wings LH2496)
N76400 is Boeing's own 767-432ER prototype, MSN 29705 (line number 773), which first flew on 30 December 1999. The aircraft served Boeing as a demonstrator in the company's red, white, and blue "Leading the Way" house livery before delivery to Delta Air Lines in February 2001, when it was re-registered N827MH. For a brief window spanning late 1999 to early 2001, N76400 was the only 767-400ER flying—making the registration synonymous with the 767-400ER's certification campaign and promotional airshow appearances including Farnborough 2000. JC Wings LH2496 captures it in the polished variant of Boeing's house scheme, with flaps retracted.
Livery & Visual Details
The fuselage is rendered in white with a glossy finish; grey underwing and lower belly surfaces contrast against the white upper fuselage. A continuous double stripe—a thicker red band above a thinner blue band—runs from the nose to the empennage and climbs the vertical stabilizer, where it frames a large stylized "767" in dark blue. "BOEING 767-400" is printed in blue semi-italics on the forward fuselage above the window line. The registration "N76400" is applied in small black text on the mid-fuselage. Wings and raked wingtips—the 767-400ER's distinctive extended raked wingtip design rather than blended winglets—are finished in light grey. Engine nacelles are entirely white, with dark fan blades visible in the intake.
Model Craft & Collectibility
JC Wings LH2496 is cast in diecast metal at 1:200 scale with flaps-up configuration and a display stand included. The 767-400ER is among the least-produced 767 variants—only 38 aircraft were built, exclusively for Delta Air Lines and Continental Airlines—and the Boeing house-color prototype registration holds particular appeal for collectors documenting the type's early flight test history.
