1:200 Diecast: Boeing 767-400ER N76400 "Leading the Way" Flaps Down (JC Wings LH2496A)
N76400, MSN 29705 (Line Number 773), first flew on October 9, 1999, as the 767-400ER prototype. Boeing retained the aircraft through 2002 as its factory demonstrator, deploying it on a "Leading the Way" world tour that opened at the July 2000 Farnborough International Air Show with static display and flying demonstrations. In May 2002, N76400 was delivered to Delta Air Lines, re-registered N827MH, where it continued in passenger service well into the 2020s.
Livery & Visual Details
The model wears Boeing's factory demonstration scheme: white fuselage with three horizontal stripes — a fine red upper line, a bold blue centre band, a fine red lower line — curving upward at the nose. "BOEING 767-400" in blue block type dominates the forward fuselage; registration N76400 appears on the rear fuselage. The vertical tail is white with a large blue "767" standing vertically, flanked by the red-blue stripe pattern. No wingtip devices; conventional straight tips as delivered. Flaps are deployed in landing/take-off configuration, the defining visual feature of the -A variant. Diecast with polished metallic finish treatment on the underside.
Model Craft & Collectability
JC Wings LH2496A is the flaps-down variant, distinguished from the clean LH2496 release. The 767-400ER's raked wingtips (standard on the -400ER but shown clean on this demonstrator configuration) and extended fuselage over the -300 are captured in the 1:200 tooling. Diecast alloy.
